Areas of protected landscape

Protected Landscape Area is one of legally established forms of nature protection. It has no such high rank as a nature reserve or landscape park. The Protected Landscape Area includes the area protected because of its distinguishing landscape and characterized by various ecosystems, valuable for their possibility to satisfy needs of tourism and recreation and functions of ecological corridors.

There are four protected landscape areas within the territorial range of Sława Śląska Forest District:

 

Channels of Obrzyca and Odra rivers - the area established in 1996. It covers 23 375 hectares - the administrative area of Lubuskie Province and communes of Bojadła, Kargowa, Kolsko and Nowa Sol. Within Sława Śląska Forest District 1 347.86 ha - including central-western and north-western part of the Forestry District.

 

Sława and Przemięt Lake District - the area created in 1996. Covers 16 737 hectares - the administrative area of Lubuskie Province and communes of Kolsko, Nowa Sol and Sława. Within Sława Śląska Forest District there are 7 321.30 ha - central and eastern part of the Forest District.

 

Nowa Sól Odra Valley - created in 1996. Covers 9 852 hectares - the administrative area of Lubuskie Province and communes of Bojadła, Nowa Sol and Siedlisko. Within Sława Śląska Forest District there are 259.45 ha - the western part of the Forest District.

 

Sława Lake District, The Glacial Valley of Obra River and Zbąszyń Channel - the area created in 1996. Covers 41,700 hectares and, in contrast to the previously mentioned areas of protected landscape, it is the administrative region of Greater Poland - communes of Zbąszyń, Siedlce and Wolsztyn.
